Ballistic shield for home defense
Violence has become more of an everyday part of today’s modern society. Today, a lot of homes in America have different kinds of self-protection gears that are used to protect their families, businesses, and friends. And it’s a no brainer. The truth is that nobody wants to be caught off guard in the face of danger. With the rate of violence currently on the uprise, it is not a matter of ‘if’ but ‘when’ one might be faced with a life and death situation. The smartest persons are those who know how to stack the odds in their favor by seeking ballistic protection.
When it comes to getting ballistic rated protection, a lot of families default to ballistic body armor. However, these armors are designed for law enforcement agents, military officers, and the police force. While they are great for stopping a bullet, they might not be the best choice in a daredevil situation.
For starters, tactical vests and body armor can only protect one person – the wearer. Also, it is solely designed to cover the torso; leaving other areas of the body exposed. More so, the chances of getting injured by blunt impact trauma is higher when using ballistic armor. All of these and more are what leaves the demand for an alternative.
The best alternative for home defense is a ballistic shield. They are quite easy to use and apply, especially in dire situations. You can easily pull out a ballistic shield in a break-in situation. I’m not sure you can put on body armor that quick.
Also, ballistic shields can protect more than one person. Depending on the size of the ballistic shield, it is possible for a ballistic shield to offer wider coverage than regular body armor. It also reduces the risk of suffering blunt impact trauma.
